YOUR ASSURANCE OF QUALITY

Sealy, a leader in the bedding industry, sets itself apart with a commitment to quality and innovation. While many beds may appear similar at first glance, a closer examination reveals the significant disparities in design and component quality. Sealy has devoted decades to extensive research and development, resulting in patented technologies that serve as the cornerstone of our current product range. No aspect of quality is left to chance.

Each and every component undergoes rigorous testing for simulated wear and fatigue in Sealy's dedicated Research and Development Centre. Whether it's the foams in the quilt on top of the bed or the castors on the base, the performance of every component is a meticulously measured and proven factor. The Sealy Research and Development Centre subjects each component to stringent quality standards, ensuring that beds meet the highest durability and performance criteria. Sealy's R&D Centre maintains NATA accreditation to comply with Australian Standards, guaranteeing that Sealy's quality is never compromised, even when it comes to specifications and components.

Sealy's commitment to orthopaedically correct support has a deep history rooted in the 1950s. Working in collaboration with Dr. Addison, an orthopaedic surgeon and expert in back pain treatment, Sealy in the US realized the importance of proper alignment of the skeletal system for relieving muscular tension during sleep, ultimately leading to a better night's rest. Sealy developed strict criteria based on the skeletal system's relative angles and alignment at rest, ensuring that the support system offered orthopaedically correct support for any body type and any sleeping position. This required an 'intelligent' support system that aligned with the principles of orthopaedic surgeons.

Sealy places tremendous emphasis on product testing to ensure that great comfort and support are not fleeting qualities. The company invests significant time and resources into its Research and Development (R&D) facility, which serves three crucial functions:

  1. Testing raw materials to ensure every component meets national and Sealy's own standards for durability and performance, subjecting each component to rigorous tests initially and continuously to ensure consistent performance.

  2. Testing finished products to uphold Sealy's established benchmarks for comfort, support, and durability, reinforcing the product guarantee and substantiated by Sealy's remarkably low product return rate.

  3. Developing new products with a focus on ensuring that any innovations meet rigorous standards before they are introduced to the market, all under the guidance of Sealy's dedicated R&D facility.
